Disposal Authorities

General and Record Disposal Authorities are legal documents that are used to lawfully "dispose" your inactive records. For information on what disposal authorities are and how to use them, please consult  Advice Sheet 04 - Sentencing your Records and Advice Sheet 07 - Disposal of Records

The following Disposal Authorities are for use by UWA staff only.

Please Note

The State Records Office of Western Australia has revised the GDA for Financial and Accounting Records, the GDA for Administrative Records and the GDA for Human Resource Management Records superseding any existing versions.

All previous versions of the GDAs (paper or electronic) should be withdrawn from current usage and destroyed.

Staff are reminded that under the State Records Act 2000 University records may not be destroyed without reference to an approved general disposal authority (GDA) or records disposal authority (RDA).  For more information relating to the changes to these General Disposal Authorities, contact the Manager, Archives and Records Management Services (Justine.mcdermott@uwa.edu.au
) or University Archivist (maria.carvalho@uwa.edu.au).
