Advice, Training and Support | | Plans & Policies | Bad record keeping practices can result in anything from wasted time to legal action! For that reason, Archives and Records Management Services have developed a number of services to help University staff manage their records as efficiently as possible. Our Records Management Services Advice Sheets provide practical guidance on general records management practices including disposal, what to file, legislative requirements and hints on how to manage electronic records and email. We also have some very handy TRIM Advice Sheets that deal specifically with using TRIM. If you’d like more “hands on” training, you may wish to sign up for one of our short training courses or contact us directly to arrange individual training and assistance. Staff working in faculties, schools and centres may be interested in finding out more about UReKA, a record keeping application designed to help you manage your records. |

| | Records Management Policy This policy supports the Operational Priority of "Management" as articulated in UWA's Strategic Plan and Operational Priority Plan. It defines the record keeping responsibilities of University staff, specifically regarding the creation, capture, control, security, accessibility and disposal of records, and commits the University to compliance with relevant legislation.
UWA’s Record Keeping Plan The RKP aims to ensure that the University has sound record keeping practices in place and that such practices comply with relevant legislation. All University staff are obligated to comply with the RKP.
Access Policy This policy lays out the conditions under which university staff and the public can access University records. | RAT (Recordkeeping Awareness Training)
RAT is an on-line training programme that covers everything you need to know about your legislative responsibilities regarding recordkeeping at UWA. All new staff should complete RAT training, please visit our RAT Training page for more information and how to enrol.
| | Disposal Authorities | General and Record Disposal Authorities are legal documents that are used to lawfully "dispose" your inactive records. |
