TRIM News

TRIM was upgraded to version 6.1.7 (from 5.2.3) on the 14th March 2009.

ARMS would like to thank the staff at ITS for all of their hard work and help with making this upgrade happen. A special thank you to Nick Hobbs (ITS) for putting in some insanely long hours and for his expertise and dedication.

New TRIM Global Settings

You will need to apply the new UWA TRIM Global Settings as these were reset during the upgrade.

If your TRIM toolbar looks like the image below then you will need to apply the new UWA TRIM Global Settings.

With Global Settings applied your toolbar should look like the image below.

To apply UWA Global Settings follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Tools > User Configuration > Options
  2. Click the Reporter tab on the pop up dialogue box
  3. Click on the Get System Fonts tab, then click Yes to the pop up box and OK to the next pop up box
  4. Click on the Get Global Button at the bottom of the dialogue box, then click Yes to the next pop up box
  5. Click OK

Electronic Document users (Admin domain only)

Your TRIM integration will be off when you first log into TRIM after the upgrade.

Please follow the below instructions to put your integration back on (just a few boxes to tick).

Log out of all programs on your computer, except for TRIM. Then from TRIM, go to Tools >  User Configuration > Options, then click on the Integration tab. Tick the relevant boxes as shown in the screenshot below, then click OK.

N.B: Tick all boxes as in screenshot if you use Word AND Outlook integration. If you only use Outlook integration, just tick the 'Integrate TRIM with Microsoft Outlook' box.

If this does not restore your integration, please follow the updated TRIM Advice Sheet 39 - Setting up TRIM integration with Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook

If you use Word and/or Excel integration the save window has changed slightly. If you wish to save documents to your server you should click the Offline button, then the Local Button (see screenshots below)

NEW EDM Toolbar

We’ve created a new toolbar for our electronic document users. To display the new toolbar, simply right click in the toolbar section of your TRIM screen and tick the toolbar called UWA DEFAULT – EDM
