Archives and Records Management Services

Welcome

Welcome to the newly named Archives and Records Management Services (ARMS). The old Archives and Records’ name has been changed to emphasise the importance of information management and to better reflect the section’s role as service provider to the University. Soon we will be able to reveal an improved new organisational structure designed to further increase our ability to respond to the University’s archives and records management needs, so these are exciting times for the section!

ARMS forms part of Governance Services which is located within the Registrar’s Office.

We are responsible for ensuring that the University’s official records are captured and managed in a way that improves business processes and fulfils legislative requirements laid out in the University’s Record Keeping Plan. We also work hard to help staff apply the University’s Information Management Principles to all corporate information.”

We provide advice and training to all staff on how to effectively manage both paper and electronic records and on how to operate the University’s official records management system TRIM. We also provide a reference service to the University’s archival holdings, which is open to university staff and the general public. Students seeking copies of their academic transcript or a statement of qualification can do so from the Student Administration website. Members of the public wishing to verify the qualifications/awards of a graduate can do so via UWA's Award Verification Service.
